On November 5th the mission celebrated 40 years of service with a special weekend event. During an afternoon roundtable, speakers discussed the challenges farmworkers face every day.
The weekend was capped off with a special worship service on Sunday morning with other area churches, and mission partners joining in the celebration.
Saturday’s events included a panel discussion on the challenges farmworkers face every day. Speakers included members from the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and Frontera de Cristo, along with members from the mission’s farmworking community.
Sunday’s ecumenical worship included members from neighboring faith communities as well as a special dedication to the mission’s Cumberland origins.
The mission is grateful for all the visitors who traveled from all over the country to join the mission in this celebration.
